Inspired by
and designed
for Brunswick

Over the decades, the beauty of Brunswick has been pieced together by the merging of cultures and shared values.

Our team, comprised of award-winning developers ID_Land, architects Rothelowman and interior designers Hecker Guthrie created Canvas – adding another piece of the mosaic to Brunswick. The result was this space.

Creativity, sustainability, design and community are all parts that make up the frame for Canvas. Each of the 62 apartments have been designed with these four pillars in mind.

Architecture

Sculptural in design and structural in form, Canvas’ façade pays homage to Brunswick’s industrial past. Formed by concrete construction and urban design principles, the visual grid has been meticulously crafted by award-winning architects Rothelowman. Reinterpreting the industrial regeneration of Brunswick, Canvas is cut to fit into the mosaic of Barkly Street.

Tethered to Barkly Street, Canvas’ ground level will thrive off the bustle of Brunswick. Take a step back from the excitement on Sydney Road or Barkly Square, and step into the welcoming lobby. The private and secure residential access on Barkly Street provides absolute convenience.

“We want to engage with the rich tapestry of built form which has shaped Brunswick into the suburb it is today.”

– Stuart Marsland, Rothelowman

The floor-to-ceiling windows provide connectivity to Melbourne, casting light on the timber floorboards.

Practicality, functionality and livability define the sophisticated interiors cleverly crafted by Hecker Guthrie. Each apartment floorplan maximises open-plan living whilst the full height windows bring the outside in.

The synergy between the neutral interior colour palette and the industrial façade creates a collision of modern and warmth in one symbiotic aesthetic. The grid flows through each apartment intersecting and marrying the open-plan living.

Terrazzo tiles and matte black tapware add a unique touch to the kitchen and bathroom. So too does the olive-green or matte white mosaic tiles within the shower. The understated interiors flowing through each floorplan are a testament to design simplicity.
